Discouragement comes easy to me. My mind easily dwells on the negative. It’s work to sift through the failures and frustrations to find the successes and moments of joy. Last night, I took time to look through my sessions from this past year and I found myself feeling thankful.

I’m thankful for each person or family that has asked me to take their pictures, without you I wouldn’t be able to do this work. I’m thankful for the conversations that have taken place during sessions and for truly getting to know people. I am thankful for all that I have learned. I’m thankful for the failures as well as the “light bulb'“ moments. I’m thankful for growth and that even though I have so many things I want to learn, I’m thankful for the excitement that comes with overcoming obstacles and learning new things. Most of all, I am thankful God has placed this desire within me. Photography is a lifelong dream and I am so thankful for the ability to pursue it.

Here’s to greeting 2022 with joy and gratitude and anticipation for the opportunities to come.
